Former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and member of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has taken to his official X account on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 to react after seeing some Northerner arming themselves with guns to confront bandits.
This came after VANGUARD reported that bandits attacked a mosque in the state and killed several worshippers.
In the video that surfaced online, the people were seen learning how to shoot guns.
Reacting, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed said state must win the war against banditry to stop the looming anarchy.
The former presidential aide stated that things are not looking good.
According to Hakeem Baba-Ahmed on his official X account;
“Communities in parts of the North are threating to arm themselves against bandits. This is a major tipping point in our national security. To stop looming anarchy, the state must win the war against our killers. Dont let it get worse”.
