Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Dele Farotimi has spoken about the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
His statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, August 25, 2025.
His statement is coming after an X user said the former President of Nigeria can not be accused of lacking patriotism.
Here is what the X user said;
“Uncle Dele please leave Baba alone. Allow him to fight the good fight for all his flaws”.
Reacting, Dele Farotimi referred to Olusegun Obasanjo as a man who has achieved so much in life. He said he can only pray to become like the former President.
The human rights activist, however, stated that Obasanjo is not a patriotic citizen because he didn’t build the country.
Here is what Dele Farotimi wrote on his official X handle;
“Obasanjo is many things that I can only pray to be. He is a blessed man. He is blessed with riches that money can buy and he is possessed of riches that money can never purchase”.
