Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has ignited a wave of reactions on social media after questioning the effectiveness of the 50 fighter jets that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration plans to purchase.

On his official X handle, Sani expressed his hopes that these jets would surpass the performance of those acquired by the previous government.

The Federal Government recently announced its intention to enhance its anti-banditry operations by acquiring 50 new aircraft, expected to arrive between now and next year, as reported by Punch.

This move aims to bolster security efforts in the North-West region and throughout Nigeria, particularly as terrorists have occupied the Kainji National Park in Niger State.

Reacting to this development, Sani posted, “I hope the 50 fighter Jets we are going to buy will be better than the Tucano jets bought by the previous administration.”
