Prophet Isa El-Buba has openly criticized the actions of Miyetti Allah, declaring that despite being a Fulani man himself, he cannot remain silent in the face of injustice.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, El-Buba emphasized the need for truth, stressing that silence would amount to complicity.
“I’m a Fulani man. I’m grandfather of eight grandchildren and we just have to speak the truth. The Bible says you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” he stated firmly.
The fiery preacher said the conduct of some leaders and members of Miyetti Allah has been a major source of tension in Nigeria, especially in relation to farmer-herder clashes and insecurity in rural communities. He noted that the association, instead of proffering peaceful solutions, has often been accused of justifying or downplaying violent acts committed by herders.
El-Buba insisted that the time has come for all ethnic and religious leaders to stand on the side of justice, regardless of personal affiliations. According to him, his Fulani heritage will not stop him from condemning wrongdoings.
He urged Fulani elders, particularly within Miyetti Allah, to embrace dialogue, peace and accountability, rather than shielding criminal elements who hide under the guise of herding.
The cleric further appealed to government authorities to remain impartial in handling farmer-herder conflicts, stressing that selective justice has worsened divisions across the country.
El-Buba’s remarks have sparked debate among Nigerians, with many praising his courage to confront sensitive issues within his own ethnic group.
