Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Dele Farotimi has taken to his official X account on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 to react to the statement that an X user made about the Obidient Movement.
According to the man, he said people can have a debate with Dele Farotimi unlike some members of the Obidient Movement.
According to him;
“I know you as someone who can debate without acrimony even if we disagree. I just can’t say the same for most of the Obidients. Frankly, I can’t even classify you as an Obidient”.
Reacting, Dele Farotimi said being a member of the Obidient Movement has nothing to do with the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi but a desire for change.
According to Dele Farotimi on his official X account;
“The Obidient Movement precedes the emergence of Peter Obi, but his emergence offered an unimpeachable totem to the movement. You are Obidient and it has nothing to do with Peter Obi. The desire for change is what makes you Obidient”.
