One of the members of the Obidient Movement, Dr Yunusa Tanko has taken to his official X account on Monday, August 18, 2025 to react to the statement that was made by Labour Party, LP, chieftain and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi about election rigging in Nigeria.
The former governor of Anambra state made the statement after the conclusion of bye elections in some states. In the post that Peter Obi made on his page, he appealed to people to shun politicians buying votes.
According to Peter Obi on his official X account;
“I appeal to every Nigerian, get organized and make election rigging very difficult. Go out, register, collect your PVC and hold it firmly”.
Reacting, Yunusa Tanko backed the statement that was made by the former governor of Anambra state.
He said those selling their votes to politicians during elections are selling their future and that of their children. He said they are also denying themselves the access to the basic amenities that they are entitled to in the country.
According to Yunusa Tanko;
“It is important to note that Peter obi will always say that those who buy votes are only buying their way to the treasury to steal public money.
