In a recent interview from 0:33 shared by Signature TV, SSA, Media to the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Ken Asogwa, addressed ongoing political developments surrounding Peter Obi and his reported alignment with the African Democratic Congress. He explained that party processes and membership rules remain binding for all aspirants.
According to him, the Labour Party is focused on maintaining its internal structure and complying with electoral guidelines. He noted that any candidate seeking to contest under the party must be duly registered before official submissions are made to the electoral body.
Speaking further, Asogwa emphasized that timing plays a critical role in political participation, especially as parties finalize their candidate lists. He stated, “By the time Peter Obi ends his primaries in ADC and he doesn’t get the ticket, he won’t be able to contest under the Labour Party.”
Asogwa added that once the party submits its register to INEC, no new member can be accommodated for the purpose of contesting elections.
