Former political adviser Grema Kyari has said former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan remains the type of leader Nigeria urgently needs to restore peace, unity, and compassion in governance.
In an interview on Channels Television, Kyari explained that Jonathan’s record in office demonstrated qualities that placed national interest above personal ambition. He stressed that Jonathan had shown humility and tolerance during his time as president, citing examples of his peaceful approach to leadership and willingness to prioritize unity even in difficult circumstances.
Kyari maintained that Nigeria’s current challenges demand the return of a leader who embodies those values. According to him, Jonathan’s actions in the past already proved that he understands the importance of peace over power and unity over ambition.
He added that Jonathan’s leadership style created a foundation for stability, arguing that the same qualities are still needed today to move the country forward. Kyari therefore urged Nigerians across all regions to reflect on Jonathan’s legacy and consider his suitability for the present moment.
