Labour Party National Secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim, has questioned Peter Obi’s capacity to lead Nigeria, arguing that effective leadership requires the ability to manage internal crises within an organization. He stressed that leadership is about demonstrating the qualities and capacity that minimize disputes rather than engaging in showmanship.

He stated that if Obi could not effectively manage relationships and disagreements among key Labour Party figures, including himself, Julius Abure, and Nenadi, it raises doubts about his ability to handle the diversity and complexities of governing Nigeria.

He said in an interview with Trust TV, “If you belong to an association, you have to show capacity – capacity of leadership. Your leadership ability, your leadership quality, your leadership capacity will make that organization minimize the crisis, but not to go and start showing off. So assuming we give Peter Obi the opportunity to manage Nigeria, how will he start? Labour Party, just me, Abure, Nenadi and others – he cannot manage us. Then how can he manage the diversity in Nigeria?
