In a report by Press TV News on August 16, 2025, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, has issued warning to Arab nations across West Asia, urging them to recognize the growing dangers posed by Israel’s territorial ambitions.
In a message delivered through an Arabic-language post on X (formerly Twitter), Qalibaf described Israel’s expansionist drive as a looming threat not only to Palestine but also to neighboring states.
His remarks came in direct response to comments made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier in the week.
Speaking to i24News, Netanyahu, who is already under an international arrest warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, openly spoke of plans tied to the so-called “Greater Israel” vision.
This controversial project envisions expanding Israeli control over independent Arab nations, including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
Qalibaf did not mince words in his criticism, branding Netanyahu as the “Hitler of the 21st century.” He accused the Israeli leader of laying bare the Zionist regime’s future plans for the region, describing them as nothing short of a direct threat to Arab sovereignty. In his words, “The time to restrain the rabid Zionist dog is running out.”
The Iranian lawmaker also appealed to Muslim nations, stressing that Gaza must be recognized as the “final bulwark” standing in the way of Israeli territorial expansion.
He warned that failure to defend Palestine would only pave the way for Israel to turn its sights on other regional lands. His appeal carried both a sense of urgency and a call for unity among Muslim states.
“O Muslim brothers, officials of Muslim countries,” Qalibaf wrote passionately, “Gaza is the last bulwark. Unite and hasten to aid Palestine before the regime extends its aggression to other territories.” His plea underscores Tehran’s insistence that Arab governments can no longer afford inaction in the face of Israel’s actions.
The Gaza Strip, already battered by decades of blockade and occupation, has faced unprecedented devastation since October 2023.
Israel’s military campaign, described by many as genocidal, has claimed nearly 61,900 lives, the majority of them women and children. The figures highlight the extraordinary toll inflicted on one of the world’s most densely populated areas.
Beyond the bombings, Israel’s near-total siege of Gaza has deepened the humanitarian catastrophe. Food, fuel, and medicine have been severely restricted, with starvation increasingly used as a weapon of war.
International relief agencies and Palestinians alike have repeatedly condemned Arab governments for what they see as silence and inaction in the face of these atrocities.
Qalibaf’s warning also carried political weight, hinting that Arab regimes risk being complicit if they fail to resist Israel’s advances. He suggested that Gaza’s fall would not be the end but rather the beginning of further expansionist moves into neighboring Arab countries.
For Tehran, this is not only a Palestinian issue but one that touches on the security of the entire region. The Iranian speaker’s fiery rhetoric reflects both anger and frustration over Israel’s actions, while also exposing divisions within the Muslim world.
Although many Arab leaders express rhetorical support for Palestine, tangible efforts to curb Israeli aggression remain minimal. This gap between words and actions has fueled resentment among Palestinians and their allies.
As the war drags on, Qalibaf’s message adds to mounting calls for urgent collective resistance. His framing of Netanyahu as a modern-day Hitler is designed to resonate deeply in a region scarred by colonialism and war.
Whether Arab governments heed this warning, however, remains uncertain—yet Qalibaf’s words serve as a stark reminder that time, in his view, is quickly running out.
