The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Anambra State, Jude Ezenwafor, has recounted how he survived an assassination attempt while returning from a meeting.
In an interview with Arise News Television, he revealed that a group of attackers shot at him several times with the clear intention of assassinating him. He added that this interview was the first time he had been able to wear trousers since the incident, as he was still recovering from the injuries he sustained.
“I can recall that I was just coming back from a meeting I had in this Hilton the day I was shot. They rained bullets all over my body, they rained bullets on my vehicle, and I thank God Almighty. Today is actually my first day wearing a trouser. I am bouncing back.”
Furthermore, Jude Ezenwafor explained how he managed to defend himself against one of the attackers who tried to drag him out of his car. He recalled gripping the attacker firmly and dealing with him mercilessly, while instructing his driver to quickly speed away from the area.
His words: “I had a very good fight with one of them that wanted to drive me out of the car. One of them wanted to drive me from the car, I hooked him and told my boy to zoom off. I dealt with the person, I am happy that I dealt with the person. Whoever that sent them should check the records.”
