In a recent appearance on Fox News from 1:10, on Saturday April 25, 2026, Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, former national security adviser to President Trump, advocated for a hardline stance against Iran, describing the current geopolitical situation as a “war of wills.”

Kellogg’s comments came in response to reports that Iranian officials sought negotiations during a U.S.-led blockade. Questioning the Iranian leadership’s stability, Kellogg asserted that the U.S. should abandon traditional diplomatic negotiations in favor of firm, non-negotiable terms.

“You look at the fractured leadership. We’re not sure what the Ayatollah is doing right now. And they’re probably going to try to delay this as much as possible. I’d say we’re not going to negotiate. This is the terms,” Kellogg stated.

He proposed that the United States should be prepared to take tactical steps beyond the current blockade, specifically targeting strategic Iranian territory, such as islands in the Strait of Hormuz, to leverage pressure.

“The terms are the terms that we want and if you don’t, we’re going to take the next step and put things at risk of your government, which means their islands, their territory. That does not mean you go downtown Tehran. You don’t invade. We have to get the uranium out of there. Give it to the IAEA or somebody and control the flow of oil and open the Strait of Hormuz,” Kellogg explained.
