Dr. Chidi Lloyd, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the immediate past chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, has stated that he will not be leaving his position.

In an interview with Channels Television’s The Morning Brief show from 6:58, he declared that he would not leave his position since Martins Amaewhule, the leader of the State House of Assembly, had implored him and the other chairmen to stay in office.

In Dr. Lloyd’s words, “So this is where we are. The State Assembly has pleaded with us, the democratically elected Chairmen, to remain in office until such a time when the Governor (Fubara) will provide the enabling environment for the State Independent Electoral Commission to perform its law.”
