Dr. Yunusa Tanko, a chieftain of the Labour Party, has come out in defense of Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, against accusations of tribal bigotry. In an interview with Arise News from 9:26, Tanko revealed that Obi started his political struggle with a diverse team of three individuals from different ethnic groups: Dr. Doyin Okupe from the South West, Honorable Oseloka Obaze from the South East, and Mrs. Dudu Manuga from the North East.

Tanko emphasized that this inclusive approach contradicts the allegations of tribal bigotry. He also clarified that Obi did not receive money from the party but instead contributed funds for the collective struggle and mobilization. Tanko praised Obi’s clarity of direction and commitment to unity, saying, “I’ve never seen a gentleman that has shown so much clarity as regards to his direction.”
