Renowned businessman and human rights activist, Mahdi Shehu recently reacted to former presidential aide Reno Omokri’s plea that president Tinubu should be allowed to complete eight years in office. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that Reno Omokri’s comments were misguided.
Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide and prominent member of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet recently caused a stir after he sent a passionate plea to the north, urging them to allow President Tinubu complete eight years in office.
His plea was however, met with diverse reactions from different quarters after they surfaced online. Reacting, a renowned businessman and political thinker, Mahdi Shehu in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, labelled Reno Omokri’s comments as misguided.
According to Mahdi Shehu, the former presidential aide was blind to history, geography and logic. He further accused the former presidential aide of double standards, treachery and deception.
According to Mahdi Shehu, democracy was not about digital appeal or cajoling, but about how recognition was given to the majority through votes. He admonished Reno Omokri to preach his friendship at religious centers.
