The Convener of the League of Northern Democrats, Dr. Umar Ardo, in an interview with The Nigerian Tribune correspondent, spoke on the formation of the coalition to oust Tinubu, and a number of other national issues.

When he was asked why the Northern region is complaining loudly now about its challenges on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government, but was largely quiet throughout the eight years of Muhammadu Buhari, Ardo said that the North was never silent on Buhari. He stated that he was personally among the loudest critics of the Buhari regime, both for public and personal reasons. He explained that, having played a major role in the formation of the APC and in Buhari’s fourth presidential contest, he felt personally responsible for Buhari’s victory.

Further talking, he said, “But on the other hand, Buhari was by far better than Tinubu in his appointments and projects. He wasn’t as nepotistic as President Tinubu in his governance.”
