Governor Uba Sani has stated that there has been major progress in the fight against insecurity in Kaduna State, especially in the Birnin Gwari area. Sani said that when President Bola Tinubu visited Kaduna on December 22, 2022, he traveled with Tinubu from Kaduna to Birnin Gwari.
In an interview with Arise TV from 12:40, Sani said that at that time, the journey was very risky. He said they needed almost 20 armored vehicles to make the trip safely and these vehicles were provided by the late General Lagbaja, who was then the head of the 1 Mechanized Division in Kaduna.
Sani said the situation has changed a lot since then. He said people can now travel to Birnin Gwari without fear or heavy security. He said no one has been kidnapped there recently, and the area has become much safer.
In Sani’s words: “When Tinubu came to Kaduna on the 22 of December, 2022 for a campaign we traveled together with him from Kaduna to Birnin Gwari. We couldn’t reach Birnin Gwari without almost 20 APC armoured vehicles provided to us by late Lagbaja, he was the GOC of 1 Mechanized Division, Kaduna. Today you can go to Brinin Gwari with your eyes closed. No problem of insecurity, nobody has been kidnapped there. That is progress for me”
