Peacemaker Azuegbulam, a soldier, has shared how he lost one of his legs while fighting Boko Haram terrorists
In an exclusive interview with Lucky Udu Experience, Azuegbulam said that he and other soldiers were sent to Borno State to confront the terrorists. He said their mission was to attack a Boko Haram hideout located in a place called Wajiroko, which is in Damboa Local Government Area.
Azuegbulam said that on November 18, 2020, during the operation, they came face to face with Boko Haram terrorists. He said during the gun fight, one of the terrorists used an anti-aircraft gun to shoot at him. He said the moment he was hit by the bullet, it tore off his leg instantly.
In Azuegbulam’s words: “On our mission to capture the Boko Haram terrorists in their hideout called Wajiroko, so we came in contact with the Boko Haram terrorists and as the fight was going on I was fired with AA (Anti-aircraft) which is a weapon used for aircraft. That was the weapon Boko Haram used to fire my leg and it cut off my leg immediately”
