Former Edo State Governor and current Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has spoken out about the negative ratings some people are giving President Bola Tinubu’s administration. During an interview on Arise Television, Oshiomhole criticized those relying on polls to judge the president’s performance.
He questioned the accuracy and credibility of such polls, especially those done by unknown authors. “Did you people not score Peter Obi as the winner of the election? In the end, even Atiku had more votes than Obi. Do you still not score him as the winner?” Oshiomhole asked.
He argued that if people could wrongly predict the winner of the election, then their current judgment of the Tinubu government might also be flawed.
Speaking further, Oshiomhole defended President Tinubu’s actions over the past year. He compared the Nigerian economy to a sick patient undergoing a difficult surgery. According to him, the president is making tough decisions to fix deep problems in the system. These decisions, he said, are painful at first but necessary for long-term healing.
“Things are a lot better now than they were just a year ago,” he said, adding that though citizens are experiencing hardship, it’s part of the process of recovery.
He encouraged Nigerians to be patient, saying that just like a recovering patient, the economy needs time to heal fully and get stronger.
