A video that was posted on the YouTube page of TVC on Tuesday from 10:47, July 22, 2025 has captured the moment former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike was speaking about the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi.
Wike was speaking at a gathering in Edo state when he spoke about the order that Monday Okphebolo gave Peter Obi.
According to the video, the former governor of Rivers state said Monday Okphebolo was right to have told Peter Obi to get security clearance before visiting Edo state. He said during the 2023 presidential election, when Peter Obi was coming to visit him as governor of Rivers state, he provided vehicles for him to use.
He said the reason he did that was because Peter Obi was a presidential candidate and if anything happens to him, he will be held responsible.
He said if anything happens to someone like Peter Obi in any state, the governor of the state will be accused of being behind it.
According to Nyesom Wike;
“When I was governor, Peter Obi notified me that he was coming to my state. I provided logistics, vehicles for him to use because at that level, as a presidential candidate, if he does not tell you and anything happens, the governor will be held responsible”.
