Political commentator and media personality, Lere Olayinka, has reacted to the recent defection of Aishatu Dahiru Binani from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Binani was the APC’s candidate in the 2023 governorship election in Adamawa State.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Olayinka pointed out that Binani, who he claims was supported by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 election, has now officially left the APC. According to Olayinka, this move raises questions, especially because Atiku is a prominent leader in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), not the APC.
He further added that despite this development, Atiku’s son still holds a position as a Commissioner in the PDP-led government of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in Adamawa State.
“Aishatu Dahiru Binani, the APC candidate Atiku supported in the 2023 guber election in Adamawa State, has officially dumped APC and joined the ADC. Meanwhile, Atiku’s son is still a Commissioner in the PDP govt of Governor Fintiri,” he wrote.
