Dr Moses Paul, a Spokesman to the former Labour Party presidential aspirant and erstwhile governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi recently reacted to Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo’s declaration regarding any attempt from the former governor to visit his state. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that Peter Obi does not owe any governor permission to move freely within the country.

The recent statements of Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo regarding any attempt from former Anambra governor Peter Obi to visit his state was met with public backlash after the remarks went viral across various social media platforms.

According to the Edo governor, Peter Obi was responsible for a stampede that led to the death of three persons from his previous visit, hence, his security and that of his entourage cannot be guaranteed if he decided to visit the state.

His comments however, infuriated many, especially the supporters of the former Labour Party presidential aspirant as they deemed his comments treacherous. Reacting, Dr Moses Paul, a Spokesman to the former condemned his remarks.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that Nigeria was not practicing monarchical system of governance, hence Peter Obi owed no governor permission to move freely within the country.

This came after the former Anambra governor had earlier been denied access to Benue state to commiserate with victims of the Yelewata massacre.
