According to Honourable Tijjani Abdullahi Dankwambo, the Media Aide to the Minister of Defence, the grave of Nigeria’s late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has finally been rebuilt at his private residence in Daura, Katsina State. He shared this update on 17 July 2025.

During a condolence visit to Daura, the Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, visited the residence of the late President and paid his respects at the newly rebuilt grave.

The Minister offered personal and heartfelt prayers at the grave site, in honour of the statesman who served Nigeria both as a military Head of State and a civilian President.

He was accompanied by renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, who also joined in offering special prayers. Sheikh Jingir is currently in Daura to participate in scheduled religious programmes organised in memory of the late President.

The redesigned grave now stands as a symbol of national reverence and a dignified tribute to the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari, whose impact on Nigeria’s political and security landscape continues to be remembered.
