According to a report that was published on the official X account of VANGUARD on Thursday, July 17, 2025, a South-South group has told Labour Party, LP, chieftain and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi that if he is not ready to fight for the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, he should leave.
This came after Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and several other prominent politicians adopted ADC as coalition platform ahead of the upcoming presidential election in 2027.
According to the report that surfaced online, the group claimed that the former governor of Anambra state is only looking for a free presidential ticket and not ready to compete for it.
The group advised all the leaders in the coalition to open their eyes. The group said if the former governor of Anambra state fails to get the ticket, he won’t work with them.
According to VANGUARD, the group said that;
“If Obi is looking for where he will be given a free presidential ticket, the door is open. Although, we have gathered reliably that Mr Obi has secured another platform which he will soon unveil.
