The former Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George has pleaded with the former Vice President and PDP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, to reconsider his decision to leave the party.

His statement was contained in a viral video that was posted on the official X handle of NEWS CENTRAL TV on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

This is coming after the former Vice President resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party over the internal disputes that have been ongoing for a while.

In the video that surfaced online, Bode George said If people keep moving because they want position, it will break public trust. The elder statesman said cooperation within political parties is very crucial to fostering public trust.

He said by 2027, Atiku Abubakar will be 81 years old. He advised him to stop moving from one party to the other.

Here is what Bode George said;

“I am pleading with my brother. Let him look back. See, by 2027, he is going to be 81 years old”.
