Senator Ireti Kingibe has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, does not know the real needs of people living in Abuja. Kingibe said Wike does not know the area well because he is not from the FCT, and this makes it harder for him to fully understand the problems residents face.
In an interview with Channels Television from 24:15, Kingibe said she has tried several times to reach out to Wike to tell him about the needs of people of FCT, but he often refuses to meet with her. She said she once called Wike directly on the phone and asked if she could visit him in his office to talk about an urgent issue but he refused to meet with her.
Kingibe said when their phone conversation ended, she immediately called Senate President Godswill Akpabio who eventually helped settle the issue
In Kingibe’s words: “The last time I reached out to him, I even asked him, ‘Are you in your office let me come and see you?’ He said no. I told the Senate President that and I laughed”
