Renowned media mogul and PDP Chieftain, Chief Dele Momodu, has reacted to the viral footage of students at Philomena College of Nursing Sciences cheering former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, during his recent visit to the institution in Benin City, Edo State.
In a post shared via his verified Instagram handle @delemomoduovation, Momodu uploaded a video showing a visibly excited crowd of nursing students enthusiastically chanting and applauding as Obi addressed them from the podium. The clip captured the former presidential candidate receiving a hero’s welcome, with students chanting his name and waving as he interacted warmly with them.
In his caption, Dele Momodu wrote: “The rockstar, PETER OBI… Every member of the coalition should go all out to mobilize against the ruling APC.”
The video was taken during Obi’s visit to Philomena College of Nursing, where he donated ₦15 million in support of the school’s mission to train professional nurses and enhance healthcare delivery. The visit formed part of Obi’s broader advocacy for investing in human capital development, particularly through education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation, as reported by Daily Post.
Speaking at the event, Obi emphasized: “A New Nigeria will emerge when we invest in our people and lift them out of poverty. A New Nigeria is POssible.”
Momodu’s post is said to have added to the growing momentum around Obi’s engagements, portraying him as a unifying figure within the emerging ADC-led opposition coalition. The visit is said to also reinforced Obi’s popularity among youths, especially in academic institutions, where his message of reform and empowerment continues to resonate.
