Dele Momodu, a former presidential aspirant of the PDP, has spoken about the party’s presidential primary election in 2022 where he contested against Nyesom Wike and other aspirants.

In an interview with Channels Television from 15:49, Momodu said a former president of Nigeria sent a highly placed person to warn him not to waste his time and money on the primary election. He said he was told that Wike was willing to give the 774 delegates 30,000 dollars each to convince them to vote for him.

Momodu said even if he tried to gather all the wealth from his entire family there was no way he could raise that kind of money. He said even if he had the money, he would never spend it just to win an election.

In Momodu’s words: “A former president of Nigeria sent someone to me, someone very top, that they should tell me not to waste my money on the PDP primary, that Wike had raised the stakes to 30,000 dollars per delegates. 30,000 dollars times 774 delegates. Of course if you were to sell my family from first generation to the last generation there was no way I was going to come up with that. And even if I could come up with that I would never waste it”
