During an interview with TVC from 11:07, Dr. Oludare Marindoti, convener of the Social Rehabilitation Grace and Support Initiative, criticized the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent comments on the root cause of Nigeria’s electricity crisis. Marindoti took issue with what he described as a shallow and oversimplified explanation, arguing that the challenges in the sector run much deeper than leadership rhetoric.

He argued that blaming bad leadership without providing technical context or actionable insights only serves to mislead the public. He accused opposition figures like Obi of exploiting emotional narratives without addressing the systemic problems or offering realistic solutions. Marindoti also expressed frustration over the manipulation of online platforms, which, according to him, often reject pro-Tinubu content while posing as neutral spaces for political discourse.

I saw an interview where an anchor interviewed PO yesterday, and they asked him, “What have you identified to be the problem of electricity?” and he said, “Bad leadership.” I mean, come on, just so unintelligent. You know, so when you look at these things, these guys are trying to hoodwink and play on people’s sentiment, and like you said, social media is something that we really need to regulate because, I mean, there are stories that I can tell you about experiences trying to campaign for President Tinubu on social media whereby platforms that portray themselves as neutral to the people, you’ll send them your videos, and they’ll reject them.”
