During an interview with TVC, Dr. Oludare Marindoti, convener of the Social Rehabilitation Grace and Support Initiative, expressed his belief that the political careers of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are far from over, and he confidently predicts their return to the presidential race in 2027.

Marindoti made it clear that despite the political shifts and maneuvers happening now, these two prominent figures are likely to be on the same ticket in the next election.

He also touched on the recent activities surrounding Peter Obi’s alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while he maintains his position within the Labour Party. Marindoti sees this as part of a larger political strategy and hinted that this is not the last time Nigerians would see the two politicians on the ballot. Drawing on a popular saying from his home state of Ondo, he highlighted the persistence of Atiku’s presidential ambition, regardless of previous setbacks.

According to him, “I can bet maybe a good chunk of my salary that come 2027, Atiku will be on the ticket, and Peter Obi will be on the ticket. That’s why you see Peter Obi went for the ADC, but he said he’s still in Labour. Atiku has decamped; let us see how it plays. You know, we have a saying in Ondo, in Akure, that ‘Atiku atiku ko to loun o se president, ti atiku o ba tiku, aini oun fe se president.’ He’s a perennial presidential candidate; he’s going to keep on running for as long as his breath will allow him.
