Datti Baba Ahmed, the former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has spoken about the new coalition of opposition parties planning to use the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their platform for the 2027 elections.

According to a report by Daily Trust on Thursday, July 3, 2025, Baba Ahmed said the coalition is a good idea, and he supports it. However, he said the coalition is not yet strong enough to defeat President Tinubu in 2027. He said they lack someone like Tinubu, who is strategic, resourced, and visionary.

Ahmed said that President Tinubu is very experienced in forming coalitions and always plans his moves carefully. He said he supports the new coalition but he still believes the Labour Party is a good political platform and should not be ignored. He said, “Because President Tinubu is the master of coalition politics. He knows every step. If you say, “Oh, we’ll make a coalition against him,” he already has the roadmap”
