Senator Orji Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State and a member of the APC, has spoken about his relationship with the current Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti. Kalu said that Otti is someone very close to him.
In an interview with Channels TV, Kalu said that Alex Otti used to be his banker and has been his friend for a long time. He said some people expect him to fight Governor Otti just because they belong to different political parties. However, he said that he has no reason to be in conflict with Otti over politics.
Kalu said the only time he might oppose Governor Otti is during an election. He said if Otti defects to APC he would have no reason whatsoever to oppose him.
In Kalu’s words: “There is something you do not know about this governor. He was my banker, he is my friend, he is like a family to me. So people want me, suddenly because I am in APC and he is in Labour Party, to carry sword against him. There is only day I will disagree with this governor: on the day of election”
