Former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has accepted his appointment as Interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), pledging to rebuild the party into a force driven by ideology, democratic values, and public service.

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai shared the acceptance speech on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

In his acceptance speech, Aregbesola emphasized the need for internal democracy, transparency, and accountability within the party. “This is not an easy task. It will take time. It will demand sacrifice. But it can be done,” he said, calling for support and accountability from party members.

Aregbesola vowed to make the ADC a party that delivers tangible results, such as building schools, supporting security policies, and creating jobs.

He also emphasized inclusivity, ensuring young people, women, and marginalized groups have a genuine voice. “Hold me accountable. Challenge me when I stray.” He said.
