One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X account on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 to address those criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for offering scholarships to students in Saint Lucia.
According to CHANNELS TV, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking in St Lucia, stated that a scholarship program for Caribbean students will commence in Nigeria next year.
Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani said those criticizing the decision of the President need to be enlightened.
He said the countries that have been giving to Nigeria too have their own problems yet, they chose to render help. The former Kaduna lawmaker said giving should not only be when it is convenient.
According to Senator Shehu Sani on his official X account;
“When Nigeria offers scholarships for St Lucian students to study in Nigeria, I read comments from people who thinks we should not give because we have our problems. They need to be enlightened that all the countries that give aid, grants and scholarships to Nigerians also have their problems”.
