Political activist Adeyanju Deji has advised supporters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi to stop their online battles and focus on building a stronger opposition through the newly formed Alliance for Democratic Advancement (ADA).
In a tweet shared on Monday, Deji cautioned that the divisions that marred the 2023 presidential election should not be repeated if the opposition truly aims to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. The ADA coalition, reportedly spearheaded by Atiku and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, is being positioned as a major force to challenge the APC-led administration.
“Happy new week guys. The errand boys of Atiku & Obi should unite and stop embarrassing each other online. Learn from your 2023 mistake. If you like insult me again like you did in 2023. Tinubu is not Buhari. He’s the one that is in Aso Rock now and will organize the election,” Deji stated.
He further stressed the importance of including influential northern figures like Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the coalition, noting, “Kano is like four southern states. Kwankwaso is too important for the coalition.”
Deji’s comments reflect growing awareness among opposition stakeholders that unity is essential for the success of the ADA coalition. His remarks also serve as a stark reminder that with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu firmly in control of the federal government, the dynamics of the 2027 elections will be far different from 2023.
