Babatunde Gbadamosi, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Lagos East senatorial candidate, has openly rejected the idea of Atiku Abubakar leading Nigeria, insisting that only Peter Obi or someone with similar qualities can move the country forward.
In a post shared via his official X handle, Gbadamosi stated, “Dead that Atiku talk. Only @PeterObi or someone in his mould can take Nigeria to where she needs to be.”
He also praised Obi’s former running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, describing him as a strong asset with rare qualities.
Gbadamosi highlighted Datti’s intellectual depth, integrity, business acumen, and firm resolve as essential traits needed in leadership.
According to him, the alliance between Obi, Datti, and the Nigerian people already represents a formidable political force.
He dismissed talks of any alternative coalition, urging those seeking change to join the current movement.
“Coalition or no coalition, it’s Obi-Datti or nothing, unless Datti steps down. Anyone looking for a coalition should join the existing coalition between Obi-Datti and Nigerians,” he wrote.
Gbadamosi’s comments have stirred fresh political debate, further solidifying support for Obi-Datti ahead of the 2027 elections.
