An Iranian lawmaker has urged the country to remain on high alert despite the recent ceasefire following Israel’s military assault. Hossein Samsami, a member of Tehran’s parliament, made the remarks on Friday, emphasizing that the danger from Israel is far from over.
In a statement reported by Iran International English on its verified Twitter account, Samsami described Iran’s retaliation to the Israeli attack as “decisive and crushing.” However, he warned that Israel remains poised to launch further strikes if given the opportunity.
“We must not let them use the element of surprise again and inflict irreparable damage,” Samsami stressed, calling on Iran’s military and defense systems to maintain maximum vigilance.
Samsami’s comments reflect the tense atmosphere in the aftermath of the recent military exchanges between the two regional adversaries. While a temporary ceasefire has been established, both sides appear skeptical of each other’s intentions moving forward.
“The response to Israel’s attack was decisive and crushing,” Samsami said, expressing confidence in Iran’s defensive capabilities. Still, he cautioned that Israel continues to seek openings for renewed aggression.
