On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, former presidential candidate Peter Obi addressed a concerning incident involving his youngest brother’s property in Ikeja, Lagos.

The issue came to light when his brother, recently returned from Port Harcourt, contacted him in distress, reporting that a group had begun demolishing the building without prior notice.

Obi, who was in Abuja at the time, rushed to the scene and arrived to find security personnel restricting access, with demolition work already underway.

According to Obi, the property, owned by his brother’s company for over a decade, was being torn down based on a court judgment issued against an “unknown person” and squatters. He noted the absence of a demolition order or permit, raising questions about the legality of the action.

Obi spent several hours at the site, engaging with contractors and security, but received no clear explanation of the demolition’s authorization.

The contractors claimed ignorance of the orchestrator, while two individuals later suggested a police station visit, though no official documentation was provided.
