Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has dismissed criticism from certain television stations over his recent “take a bow” gesture directed at permanent secretaries during the commissioning of newly constructed roads in the Central Area.

In a video posted by TVC from 25:26, Wike expressed his disdain for some TV stations, accusing them of never reporting positively and specifically criticizing their portrayal of his gesture as humiliating towards the senior civil servants.

“It’s an honor to be called out to take a bow, but to tell you that human beings can never. This morning, of course, I hardly listen to some of these television stations. Some of them can never say anything good. They were criticizing, ‘How will you call people who are permanent secretaries at their level to come and take a bow?'” Wike stated.

The FCT Minister defended the gesture, asserting that it was an honor for the permanent secretaries to be recognized in such a manner. However, he acknowledged that some individuals might feel humbled or embarrassed by the request.

Wike further urged the people to be grateful to President Bola Tinubu for including them in his administration, seemingly suggesting that the criticism of his actions was unwarranted given the opportunity they had been granted….Sée Móre
