Dr. Kingsley Agbor, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ebonyi State, has stated that MKO Abiola won the June 12 election under SDP platform.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Agbor expressed his concerns about Nigeria’s democracy, stating that it is not functioning well for the people. He believes the current system often overlooks what citizens really want, particularly due to decisions made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the courts.
He pointed out pressing issues, asking how many people have access to clean water, reliable electricity, and good schools. He noted that many Nigerians are facing financial difficulties, mentioning that a crate of eggs now costs ₦7,000. He said while many are just getting by, genuine democracy is not being achieved in Nigeria.

“The spirit of June 12 came from SDP, the platform on which the late MKO Abiola won the 1993 election.”
