In a recent video shared by REFRESH NIGERIA from 4:20, Peter Obi said he decided to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) because he felt unable to share his opinions. He emphasized that it was important for him to be in a place where he could speak freely, which led to his decision to leave.

Obi explained that after leaving the PDP, he joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He said he ran a successful campaign but faced challenges when another candidate was declared the winner. He noted that rather than argue, he decided to take the matter to court to regain his victory, and he was successful in that pursuit.

Here’s what Obi said,

“This is not the first time I left PDP. In 2022 when I started this politics, I was a member of PDP. I went to one meeting I wanted to contribute, and people said, ‘No you can’t contribute.’ I quietly left them, I said if I’m in a system where freedom of contribution is not allowed. I went to APGA, campaigned, won the election, somebody else was declared I didn’t quarrel I went to court and I won.”
