According to a recent report by VANGUARD, a former presidential aspirant Chief Martin Onovo has disclosed the reasons why it will be difficult for a single party to defeat president Tinubu. In his statements which drew the attention of the general public, he equally revealed what the coalition must do to achieve their aims.
Amid the growing endorsements of president Tinubu, many were still of the opinion that his victory in the forthcoming elections were far from being a straightforward one. Notable among these voices was a former presidential aspirant, Chief Martin Onovo who warned the ruling party to be wary of the chances of the opposition coalition.
In his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, while disclosing that the opposition coalition stood a good chance of unseating the president, pointed out that they must be wary of self-sabotage.
According to the Elderstateman, no single party can defeat the president, but a coalition can win convincingly. However, he warned that the coalition will only perform well if they stick to the rules, and avoid internal chaos.
“The coalition will win the 2027 election with 99 per cent votes if it is not self-sabotaged.
“Take it to the bank; it will not fail; it will succeed and defeat the ruling party convincingly if they do it well.” He said.
The statements from the former presidential aspirant however, resonates with many voices who had called for cohesion and mutual understanding among the opposition in their bid to wrestle power off the current administration.
