In a video shared by Channels TV, Commissioner of Police, Edo State, Monday Agbonika, delivered a strong message during a joint security operation targeting crime and cultism in the state’s forested areas.

The operation, which saw collaboration between the Edo State Police Command, the Nigerian Air Force, and the Civil Defense Corps, was aimed at rooting out criminal elements hiding in remote forest zones. With aerial surveillance provided by a Nigerian Air Force helicopter, security forces combed through dense terrain in search of suspects.

Commissioner Agbonika—referred to in parts of the operation as Commissioner Mandona—confirmed that the mission had achieved notable success. He further disclosed that the police command would soon deploy drones to enhance forest monitoring, signaling a new era of tech-driven security enforcement in Edo State.

“This shift towards deploying technological tools is part of a broader strategy to prevent criminal activities proactively rather than reactively,” he noted.

Agbonika emphasized that the crackdown on criminal networks is extending beyond the forests. “We’re coming after them. We have their names and addresses, and we’ll be picking them up,” he stated in the video, underscoring the command’s resolve to apprehend suspects directly at their residences based on actionable intelligence.

The Edo Police Command affirmed its ongoing commitment to aggressive crime-fighting measures, assuring residents that no hiding place will be safe for criminals and cultists in the state.
