Popular Yoruba actress, Aisha Lawal, has shared a revealing story about her father’s generosity and trust during her university days.
Speaking on the Talk To B Show FROM 10:44, Lawal reflected on a time when her father empowered her and her brother with financial independence.
“While I was in school, my Dad did something for us. As far back as 2006, me and my elder brother opened an account and my dad gave us 500,000 naira each,” she said.
Her father, a successful estate surveyor and valuer, played a significant role in their financial stability. “Zenith Bank, Ecobank — we sold (property) by my dad,” she added, noting his influence in the banking and real estate sectors.
Lawal also recalled a mischievous moment from her school days. “I saw one of the bills I gave my dad one day. I used black biro to cancel out computer bill. I altered it with black biro and added 18,000 naira extra, that was in 2004/2005.”
She admitted that the act seems foolish in hindsight. “Seeing it now, I feel my dad would say I was foolish. But in my mind then, I thought he believed me because he didn’t say anything. He asked what happened to this place and I said that the bursar made a mistake, and he said okay.”
