Samuel Nwanosike, a local government chairman in Rivers State, has spoken out strongly against former governor Rotimi Amaechi. During an interview with News Central TV from 19.40, Nwanosike said that Amaechi should not forget the important role Nyesom Wike played in his rise to power.
Nwanosike explained that when Amaechi became governor of Rivers State, Wike worked hard behind the scenes to help him succeed. He reminded everyone that Wike was even Amaechi’s campaign director during his second term as governor and helped settle political disputes across the state.
According to Nwanosike, Amaechi once promised to leave politics and return to practicing law, but is now saying he’s joining forces with Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai in Abuja. Nwanosike criticized this move, saying Amaechi should return to Rivers State and face the people instead of forming coalitions in the capital.
He also said Amaechi has lost his political influence in Rivers because many of his followers now support Wike. “People trust Wike because he stands for the truth,” Nwanosike said, adding that he is ready to show proof that Amaechi owes a lot to Wike.
In a bold challenge, Nwanosike invited Amaechi to a public debate, promising to reveal facts and records. “We are waiting for him to come home,” he said. “It’s not about going to do coalition in Abuja.”
