At the center of this momentum is one name that continues to electrify the call for change: Peter Obi. According to Hon. Adam Azomchime, Southeast Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, this movement is no longer emerging — it’s erupting.
Speaking during a live political segment, Azomchime dismissed rumors of internal discord within the Obidient camp and the Labour Party. He emphasized that the movement transcends any single political platform. “We’ve never been just Labour Party,” he said. “Obidients are in PDP, APC, ADC — even among the military and police, their children are now Obidient.”
On Peter Obi’s 2027 strategy, Azomchime hinted at a calculated, multi-channel approach involving dialogue across party lines. While Obi remains with the Labour Party “for now,” he explained that Obi is carrying “three backpacks” — a metaphor for the various political options available to him. “He’s negotiating — and it’s smart. The same way APC was born from mergers, we too are building something massive.”
Addressing speculation about a possible Obi-Atiku reunion, Azomchime was firm: “Obi will never be vice president to anyone. He is the face of the Nigerian dream.”
The discussion shifted to the core issue of power rotation between the North and South. Azomchime made his position clear: “Let’s be honest. After Tinubu’s four years, Nigeria will reassess. If Tinubu performs well, fine. If not, the people will choose competence over region. And Peter Obi is already the answer.”
He concluded with a statement that’s echoing across political circles: “Tinubu has four years and that’s it — Obi will rule Nigeria next.
