With the 2027 general elections drawing closer, popular Nigerian cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned Nigerians against placing their hopes in the coalition of opposition politicians aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
In a recent interview, the spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church claimed that voting for figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, or Bala Mohammed would bring more hardship to Nigerians. He described the alliance being formed by these leaders as politically motivated and not in the interest of the masses.
Ayodele insisted that President Tinubu’s second term, if granted, would improve the country’s current state. “Nigerians should be patient. The same Tinubu who brought us here will be the one to bring us out,” he said, adding that this message was revealed to him divinely, not influenced by politics or personal interest.
The prophecy comes amid reports of opposition leaders — including Atiku and Obi — holding high-level talks and considering new platforms to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Political analyst Dr. Sulaimon Adigun Muse weighed in, suggesting that the coalition is driven more by personal ambition than national interest.
He questioned whether the common Nigerian truly stands to benefit from these political realignments.
As political tensions rise, Ayodele’s message adds a spiritual twist to the unfolding power struggle, urging voters to think carefully before choosing sides in 2027.
