As part of marking the second anniversary of our administration, we gathered today at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Aguiyi Ironsi Layout, Umuahia, for a thanksgiving service. What was expected to be a routine event transformed into a deeply inspiring moment when His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, arrived and shifted the entire atmosphere of the gathering.

It was a privilege to worship alongside government officials, dedicated Abians, and Peter Obi, whose presence brought renewed energy and focus. His powerful message urged all Abians to keep our government in their prayers and reminded us of the immense responsibility leaders carry. He stressed the importance of leaders being honest stewards of public funds, using resources solely for the benefit of the people.

Reflecting on our journey so far, I emphasized that our progress has only been possible through God’s grace, quoting 1 Corinthians 3:6-7: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.” This path has been marked by resilience and divine guidance, and Peter Obi’s presence strengthened our conviction that faith and collective effort are vital to success.

I sincerely thanked all government officials, commissioners, legislators, and judicial officers for their relentless work in advancing Abia State. Special gratitude was also extended to the Church and the people of Abia for their unwavering prayers and support.

As we celebrate two years of transformation, Peter Obi’s intervention reminded us that this gathering is more than just a thanksgiving—it is a renewed call to commitment. Abia is moving toward prosperity, and with faith, unity, and dedication, we will keep building a better future for all.
