A United Kingdom-based broadcaster, Juliana Olayinka, on Tuesday night told an On Air Personality with Arise Television, Rufai Oseni, that contrary to his strident remarks that Lagos State is smelling, major cities all over the world also have their moments of smelling.

Ms Olayinka, who is the UK correspondent of the Channels Television and who had worked with Bloomberg and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), said this on her X handle while responding to various posts by Oseni denigrating Lagos State and making remarks about how the state is smelling.

It will be recalled that there have been many comments about the situation in Lagos and how some residents have been vociferous about what they described as a Lagos that smells.

Rufai Oseni has also been posting various comments on his handle regarding the “Lagos smells” and following his consistent denigration, Olayinka responded to one of the posts.

Below is the screenshot of one of the posts by Oseni regarding Lagos that he said is smelling:

Responding to the post however, Juliana Olayinka told him that anyone who is well travelled will know that there is nothing unusual in cities that smell.

She cited cities such as New York, Paris, London, Singapore, among others, as those that have had their moments of smell, adding that the debate whether Lagos is smelling or not sounds strange to her.
