In a heartbreaking revelation that underscores the alarming level of insecurity in Zamfara State, a member of the House of Representatives, Aminu Jaji, has described a horrifying incident involving a pregnant woman and her newborn twins in bandits’ captivity.

Jaji, who represents Kaura-Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed the incident during a press briefing at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Wednesday. He expressed deep concern over the increasing brutality of insurgents and called for urgent government intervention to save innocent lives in the region.

According to the lawmaker, hundreds of people in his constituency have been abducted in recent weeks, with dozens killed after failing to meet ransom demands. He lamented that entire communities have come under the control of armed criminals, who now act as de facto rulers in many parts of Zamfara.

While opposing the idea of hiring foreign mercenaries to combat the terrorists, Jaji stressed the need to invest in military technology and improve the welfare of Nigerian security forces to enhance their effectiveness on the battlefield.

The most disturbing part of Jaji’s account came when he described an atrocity committed against a woman held in captivity. “A pregnant woman was abducted. She gave birth to a set of twins in captivity. Then the leader of the bandits took the twins and threw them at his dog. The dogs ate them up, one after the other,” he said, visibly shaken.
